TransWare Completes Fluence Evaluation for 18th Reactor

TransWare recently completed fluence evaluations for its 18th reactor. The most recent evaluation brought with it an additional 24 flux wire comparisons. After 18 reactors in the world's BWR and PWR fleet, TransWare has performed 597 comparisons between RAMA calculated activations and plant measurements with an overall C/M of 1.01.

TransWare Pushes Innovation in Thermal Fluence

Anticipating industry concerns regarding thermal fluence calculations, TransWare has developed what it believes to be the industry's first production cross-section library specifically oriented toward thermal fluence calculations. The new library pushes TransWare's fluence methods to the next level, allowing highly accurate fluence evaluations for not only fast fluence applications, but now thermal fluence as well. Analytical comparisons to highly detailed reference models show that production methods achieve results within a few percent of reference calculations.

First Commercial PWR Evaluation with RAMA Completed

Expanding RAMA’s superior 3-D methodology into the PWR market, TransWare recently completed the first commercial PWR fluence evaluation using the NRC approved RAMA Fluence Methodology. With nearly double the number of PWR's operating in the U.S. as their are BWR's, this marks a huge opportunity for RAMA to expand into a rapidly expanding market of reactors looking to extend their operating licenses.

RAMA Data Requirements for BWRVIP ISP Members

TransWare awarded contract from Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. to develop a data requirements specification for capsule fluence evaluations. A presentation shall be made to the BWRVIP Integrated Surveillance Program members describing details of the data specification at a meeting in December 2008.

RAMA Goes to Spain

TransWare awarded contract from Nuclenor, S.A. to perform a neutron fluence evaluation for the Santa María de Garoña Nuclear Power Plant.
