TransWare was the primary developer of the next generation of nuetron transport code: RAMA. Developed for EPRI in-house, RAMA utilizes the latest 3D modeling and transport solution technologies to provide highly accurate fluence estimations for components inside and outside of the reactor pressure vessel. RAMA's arbitrary geometry modeling capabilities allow for the complex internal components of nuclear reactors to be modeled with very high precision and almost limitless capabilities.
TransWare is ready to help you with support for license renewal applications, flaw evaluations, and fluence maintenance programs. RAMA has already been approved by the NRC for performing safety-related RPV fluence evaluations in accordance with Reg. Guide 1.190.

Your reactor has much more to it than just a pressure vessel, and we understand that. To date, we have calculated fluence for all primary vessel internals such as the shroud, jet pumps, top guide, core support plate, shroud repair assemblies, and core spray spargers. We are also able to calculate fluence for smaller, discrete components such as the jet pump riser brace pads, core support plate plugs and shroud head bolts. The possibilities are endless.
There are many benefits to performing your fluence evaluations using the RAMA Fluence Methodology:
- A code certified by the NRC for fluence evaluations
- A code with more than 700 measurement comparisons
- An experienced set of engineers familiar with all breeds of BWR and PWR plant internals
- Reliable fluence predictions that exceed Reg. Guide requirements for uncertainty
- Precise 3-D treatment of all internal components, no 2-D synthesis approximations
In addition, the process of performing a fluence evaluation on your plant provides an exhaustive data collection task amassing operating data back to the first day of operation. This provides an excellent repository for future relicensing and support tasks. Maintenance programs can be established to keep your fluence estimates current at the end of each completed cycle providing a quick turn-around for time critical needs like outage inspections.
